Frequently Asked Questions

Osteopathy is a holistic practice that focuses on helping the body heal itself. By using gentle, hands-on techniques, a Manual Osteopathic Therapist works to address tension, imbalances, and restrictions in the body’s structure. These techniques promote improved circulation, nervous system regulation, and overall function, allowing the body to restore balance and self-heal.

Unlike more aggressive treatments, osteopathy emphasizes gentle touch to encourage the body’s natural healing abilities. It’s a non-invasive approach suitable for people of all ages, from infants to adults, and is commonly used to address issues like pain, tension, digestive discomfort, and nervous system imbalances.

Whether you’re seeking care for yourself or your baby, osteopathy offers a supportive, natural way to enhance well-being.

Initial paediatric treatments are 60 minutes with 45 minute follow up sessions.

Initial adult treatments are usually 75 mins with 60 minute follow up treatments.

I don’t currently direct bill.  Osteopathic treatments are not generally able to be direct billed, but I will provide you a receipt so you can submit it to your insurance company for reimbursement. Because most of my continuing education falls under both Massage Therapy and Manual Osteopathic Therapy, we can cater treatments to one or the other.

This depends on what’s going on.  Some babies will have 1-2 treatments per week for a total of 4-6 treatments if we’re working through an urgent issues.  If it’s just a general rebalance, there are usually a few weeks between treatments.

With adults, we usually space appointments out for 2-8 weeks.

Depending on your chiropractor or massage therapist, there might be a few techniques that overlap, but traditional principles of osteopathy are very wholistic based and stand on their own.

Appointments can be scheduled online here  or you can contact me to see if there is earlier availability that’s not posted.

Pricing depends on the length of the session. All pricing is listed on the booking site here.

Every situation is different.  Some issues resolve in one session.  Other issues have taken years and years to develop and may take a number of appointments to untangle.
